JoA ­­– Cafe/Marketplace Branding

Objective – The project objective of JoA was to create a consistent branding and visual system for any kind business or company and to create 4 sets of deliverables to showcase the branding.

Concept – A restaurant/cafe that doubles as a marketplace inspired by the iconic feminist heroine Joan of Arc. The establishment is meant to be an artistic community where local women owned and queer owned businesses can sell their artwork and products.

Theme – visually, JoA uses old medieval style etchings and imagery like swords, cathedrals, Armour, etc in combination with more modern color schemes, patterns, and type treatments. These design choices were made to honor Joan of Arc and pay homage to that historic time period while still staying fresh and interesting for a modern audience.

Materials – The branding system for JoA includes a set of three tea boxes in Earl Grey, Chamomile, and Chai Spice. It also includes three cold brew bottles in light roast, medium roast, and dark roast. The system additionally has a three part menu system and finally three gift shop items that include coasters, a journal, and candle.
